Reshaping the Cabin Top and Rebuilding the Cockpit Sole

The cabin top needs no explanation.  The cockpit is fitted with an engine access hatch fastened with about a dozen  2-inch hex screws. It is being rebuilt from 3/4-inch foam and fiberglass. New nylon honycomb non-skid will be applied with the finish coats .  The two ‘pipe’ sockets in the photos make it possible to move the two legged salon table to the cockpit for ‘outside’ dining.

Final Primer

Warm and sunny at Minnesott Beach today.

Topsides have been faired, primed and made ready for finish coats.  Windows have been removed and templates made for replacements to be fabricated by a West Coast firm specializing in custom windows. Cabinsides are getting reshaped with much epoxy filler prior to priming.  The longer this project takes to complete, the longer my wish list becomes (sigh).  Now wanting the companionway rebuilt (a must be done) with a bronze glass hatch cover (to match the windows), teak cockpit hatch covers (3) and a clean, green inboard electric drive to replace the smelly, noisy Volvo Penta diesel.
